'You've seen us amongst you, we're the ones with the red cheeks. No, not because we're embarrassed or wearing too much blush. We're the ones that suffer from something called Rosacea. This is a condition that manifests itself with blotchy uneven red spots, which are actually broken and inflamed capillaries right beneath the skin. Usually it's inherited from our parents. There are things that you can do to lessen the problem, like not eating spicy foods and avoiding caffeinated drinks and alcohol, as well as not taking hot baths or showers. But what fun would that be!? Ha ha, okay, I'm halfway kidding. While this affliction can certainly become dangerous if left unchecked, it can be helped by a healthy lifestyle, and there's another way to lessen the effects... While there are actually 5 products in this particular group of products, I have been using the 3 basics which include the cleanser, the hydrator and the moisturizer. And they are wonderful! The essential oil blend of Helichrysum and Chamomile is gentle and soothing, and used throughout this line. But the other ingredients are a perfectly balanced mix of botanicals that help circulation, strengthen the capillary walls and nurture the skin.

The cleanser has a lovely citrus scent that makes it a pleasure to use. I just learned today that it also contains honey, that explains the sweet taste that I get now and then when a little goes in my mouth! It is a thick gel formulation that is different than any other cleanser I've tried. It is not drying in the least though like what I usually think of when I hear the word 'gel'. Instead it's very gentle and nourishing, and cleans the skin beautifully. A little goes a long way.

The hydrator adds another veil of nourishment to our damaged skin. It has a host of soothing, feeding botanicals such as aloe vera, bladderwrack, slippery elm bark, calendula flowers to mention just a few. It comes in a spray bottle which makes it very easy to use and good for when you just want to cool down or calm down the skin quickly. This is a powerhouse formula that calms, hydrates and nourishes all at the same time. It also helps with the application of the moisturizer.

The moisturizer is the last step in the process and gets locked into the skin to keep it moist and soft. It contains many of the soothing and feeding botanicals mentioned above, plus skin plumping, softening and strengthening ingredients like shea butter, hemp seed and sea buckthorn oils, and important vitamins. The two additional products in the line include a serum and mask, which I look forward to trying.

Having Rosacea is not a pleasant situation, but looking on the bright side... I get to use these lovely products!
