| I was
lucky enough to find this product while visiting the beautiful state of
Vermont. New England is filled with quaint old country stores that
are straight from a movie set. There's something about old country stores with wood plank
floors and old advertising displays that
turns me into a big kid. That's where I found Vermont Soap's Aloe
Castile Liquid Soap. Between the good feelings that I had about
the store, and the thrill of finding truly 'all' natural products, I was
in heaven!
In the very back of the store I found a small corner section with some locally made beauty products. It was there that I found several products made by Vermont Soap. After inspecting every item available, I eventually decided on their Aloe Castile Liquid Soap in "Country Lavender" scent. Throughout the trip I used the soap as a shower gel. I was very pleased with the results. The lavender scent is always enjoyable during the washing process. But what I really like is that my skin is not dry at all after using this product. Being that it is a castile soap, I almost expected it to be slightly dry, but this was not the case. They've blended it with other natural ingredients to make this a very gentle, yet effective product. When I got home from my trip I went to the Vermont Soap web site and learned much more about this company and their products. I learned that they also carry a bath and shower gel, which is thicker. It is made by mixing Aloe Castile Liquid Soap with a special extract of vegetable gums in glycerin for more softening and silkiness. So if you want to use an actual bath and shower gel, you may want to try this product. The beauty of the Aloe Castile Liquid Soap is that besides being a wonderful liquid soap for cleansing hands and body, shaving, and shampooing oily hair, it's also safe to use on woodwork, fine linens and all water-safe surfaces! So this product goes well beyond your typical beauty needs... it's a multi-purpose cleanser. I can certainly see why they sell it in gallon jugs! It's a great product, and I highly recommend it.

Here's what Vermont Soap has to say ~ After many trials we developed our own proprietary formula called Aloe Castile. We believe it to be the mildest castile soap formula available anywhere! The word castile is a reference to La Castilia - a region in central Spain historically significant in the history of soapmaking.
